Afghanistan have shocked Zimbabwe, winning by two wickets in the third ODI cricket match played at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo this Tuesday.

The tourists now trail Zimbabwe 2-1 after losing the first two matches played at the same venue.

Chasing a target of 262 to win, Afghanistan defied odds with the tail-enders withstanding the Zimbabwe attack to post 264 for the loss of 8 wickets with 2 balls to spare.

Earlier, Zimbabwe's opener, Hamilton Masakadza had top scored with 84 before he was caught by Nasir Jamal off the bowling of Aftab Alam as the hosts made 261 for the loss of 8 wickets.

Zimbabwe's captain, Brendan Taylor chipped in with 53 before he was run out by Dawlat Zadran.

Sean Williams fell one run short of scoring a half century when he was undone by the bowling of Sharaffudin Ashraf.

Zadran also ensured Skander Raza could not continue with his rich vein of form when he dismissed him for a paltry 11.

Raza was caught by Nasir Jamal.

Zimbabwe's other notable contributions came from Elton Chigumbura and Malcom Waller, who scored 20 and 15 respectively.

Timycen Maruma scored 13.

The fourth and final match will be played on Thursday the 24th with Zimbabwe seeking to clinch a 3-1 win while Afghanistan will be aiming to draw the series 2-all.
