The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has banned the use of Hartsfield Rugby Ground saying it was not suitable for premiership matches.
Premiership returnees Zimbabwe Saints had earmarked the venue for their home matches as Highlanders are based at Barbourfields Stadium while newly promoted Chicken Inn have taken up Luveve Stadium.
This now leaves Saints with only the multi-purpose White City Stadium to use, or they will resort to playing their games on Saturday at either Barbourfields or Luveve.
The PSL management has been on a tour of stadiums around the country.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday chief executive officer Kennedy Ndebele said Hartsfield was not suitable for soccer matches.
"We are not going to have football played where there are rugby posts just behind our goal posts. There is need for every stadium to have a perimeter fence as is prescribed in the Fifa safety regulations," Ndebele said.
Ndebele said the league will not have spectators walk onto the field of play celebrating goals, citing the Dynamos and Bantu Rovers second half of the season league match at the venue.
