Bosso on revenge mission against Harare City

A judgment released by the Premier Soccer League yesterday to fine Highlanders for the rowdy behaviour of their fans will stoke the emotions ahead of their clash against Harare City at Rufaro tomorrow. Bosso were slapped with fine of US$5 000 after their fans threw missiles onto the pitch during their Castle Lager Premiership tie against Harare City at BF during week 12 in June.
In a judgment released yesterday and signed by disciplinary committee chairman Don Moyo, Bosso will pay an effective US$2 500 while the difference was suspended for the rest of the season on condition the club is not convicted of a similar offence.
The effective fine of US$2 500, together with costs of the hearing, should be paid by September 30, 2012.
Allegations against Bosso came from the match commissioner Sabelo Maphosa's report that in the third minute of stoppage time, Bosso fans on the southern stand threw missiles on the field towards Harare City goalkeeper John Nomore.
Nomore had apparently been delaying the restart of the game and was a minute earlier cautioned by the referee for the same offence as the teams were tied 1-1.
According to the charge sheet, police tried to restore order but the fans threw more missiles and broke the perimeter fence around the pitch, causing mayhem.
The chaos caused a 10-minute delay as police battled to restore order and fortunately, no one was injured in the melee.
