Old foes Dynamos and Highlanders will resume their rivalry when they clash in the two-legged lucrative Bob 89 Super Cup final next month.
This year's challenge has been reduced to a two-team competition, moving away from last year's four-team format.
While figures for the challenge have not yet been made available, the organisers have promised that the prize money would surpass the $100 000 Mbada Diamonds Cup winners' payout.
IndependentSport is informed winners of the Bob 89 Super Cup competition will walk away with US$130 000.
Stan Kasukuwere, the brains behind the challenge held as part of President Robert Mugabe's birthday celebrations, confirmed the two finalists.
"I cannot go into figures at the moment but what I can promise you is that the winners will get more than what was paid for the Mbada Diamonds Cup," said Kasukuwere.
"This is the president whose birthday we are celebrating so we want it to be the biggest prize in the country. Like any other football tournament we seek to do better each year and this time we will have a two-legged final featuring the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League champions Dynamos and runners-up Highlanders. The first match will be played in Bulawayo before the birthday celebrations while the second is at Rufaro Stadium on the first Sunday after the birthday celebrations."
The launch of this year's edition will be held in Harare on Wednesday where the trophy sponsored by Pioneer Transport would be unveiled.
Kasukuwere said kit for the two teams had been acquired while the trophy is set to arrive soon from South Africa.
With such a huge carrot being dangled, the two teams are likely to field full- strength teams and use the challenge to prepare for the new season.
