Bosso's mercenary players causing havoc

Tension is still high in the Highlanders Football Club camp amid revelations the players, who have reportedly resolved to play the last game for Bosso "for the sake of the team's supporters," have indicated they will leave next season.
Bosso players went on industrial action last week demanding their outstanding salaries, allowances and winning bonuses failure of which they would not fulfill their league fixture against Kiglon.
The players then held a meeting with club chairman Themba Ndlela on Sunday before the Kiglon match. They will hold another meeting on Tuesday.
Senior mercenary players, most of whose contracts expire on December 31, have vowed not to return to the Bulawayo giants next season saying they would be taking their services elsewhere with Dynamos and Motor Action waiting in the wings to beef up their squads for the Orange Caf Champions League.
A senior mercenary player, who requested anonymity, said he was tired of playing without getting paid as he had a family to look after.
"You know how it's like my brother. My wife has always been asking me why I am still with Highlanders when I am not even getting paid. We have families to look after and we cannot continue that way.
"If any better offer comes next year, I am leaving the club. We are just playing this game for the supporters and not the executive. We held a meeting this morning (Sunday) and they told us something would be coming up on Tuesday (today)," the player said before the Kiglon match.
On Monday, another player confirmed they would hold a meeting on Tuesday with the executive but said they had resolved not to turn out for the club next year.
"It has been the players' decision just to play the remaining games for the sake of our supporters but we are not happy at all. If any good offers come up next year, I am leaving," the player said.
Most of the players and an insider blamed the executive for the crisis.
"They (the executive) direct their efforts to the wrong place. Instead of coming up with a solution they are not doing anything to address the wrong things. You see all the office bearers, the executive and most supporters are employed and they got paid their bonuses but the players who are full-time at the club are not being paid," the sympathiser said.
Another source yesterday said the trio of Francis Kanda, Menard Mupera and Protasho Kabwe, who did not play in the Kiglon match on Sunday, were ejected from a hastily organised training session for indiscipline before the match.
Efforts to get a comment from both club secretary Andrew Tapela and chairman Ndlela were fruitless on Monday.
Tapela said he was answering another phone and asked the reporter to call him later to which he did not respond while Ndlela's mobile was not being answered.
