Highlanders have landed a mega deal with leading international sportswear outfitter Adidas, that will see replicas of their official merchandise go on sale for the first time in the long history of both club.
Highlanders were resplendent in their own new robes in the two opening matches of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League season when they crushed Shabanie Mine at Maglas and whipped Harare City at Barbourfields by an identical 2-0 scoreline.
Previously, any Adidas-branded kit worn by any team on the local scene was through a cash purchase at sports shops.
The package contained under the sponsorship deal includes an assortment of match uniforms, track suits, T-shirts, training apparel, kit bags and other sporting outfits including boots, stockings and sweaters.
More importantly, bales of replica jerseys and related garments will be released on the market for fans to purchase.
Highlanders chairman Peter Dube welcomed the breakthrough and paid tribute to club sponsors BancABC for their part in crafting the deal.
"Yes, we will be smartly dressed (this season) and we are looking forward to playing in the new kit.
"Like every child receiving new clothes at Christmas we are excited about having (the new) black and white striped jerseys and would want to cherish our 'parent' who can take care of us in such a big way," said Dube in Bulawayo.
BancABC, who bankroll the two clubs and are understood to have played a financial advisory role when the deal was struck, were not in a position to comment when reached on Friday.
