AMBITIOUS Bulawayo premiership side Chicken Inn have roped in Mkhuphali Masuku as Mandla Mpofu's first assistant.
This was confirmed last night by chairman Lifa Ncube who said the move was meant to strengthen their technical department. He said with six points separating them from log leaders Highlanders, they were still hopeful for honours.
"We appointed him coach on Thursday and we were hoping to unveil him when we resume training. He even travelled to Mzingwane High School with our head coach Mandla Mpofu and Kudakwashe Mahachi on Friday," said Ncube.
He said the club was confident that Masuku and Mpofu would guide the team to success.
His first assignment on the Chicken Inn bench will be against Highlanders when the league resumes.
Ncube revealed that they had moved Sikhumbuzo Banda to the juniors. He and Julius Ndlovu were Mpofu's assistants.
Contacted for comment last night Masuku confirmed that he had met Chicken Inn and said he is comfortable with the club commenting.
"It would rather be them commenting about the meeting we had and its outcome," said Masuku.
