FORMER Highlanders Football Club chairman Themba Ndlela has filed a court case against the present Bosso executive demanding $9 000 he loaned the club a few years ago.
Summons were served at the club office along Robert Mugabe Way on Friday in which Ndlela is demanding $9 010.
Part of the lawsuit reads: "On or about December 2012 plaintiff (Ndlela) loaned and advanced to defendant (Highlanders) $9 010 at defendant's special instance and request to assist in the day-to-day running of the club, the said loan was advanced on the said date and was due to be paid on or before the July 24 2013."
Ndlela was Bosso chairman from 2009 until 2012 when he lost to the current chairman Peter Dube February 2012.
He inherited a debt of more than $40 000 from the Ernest Sibanda-led executive which ballooned to more than $400 000 during his tenure.
The club treasurer Jerry Sibanda previously told members of the club at the mid-year annual general meeting that Bosso was still struggling to pay former coaches Madinda Ndlovu and Mkhuphali Masuku $21 000 and $12 000 respectively.
Madinda was hired by Highlanders in 2009 to take charge of the Bulawayo giants, but he was replaced by the Egyptian Mohamed Fathi in September that same year.
Masuku came in on interim basis after the dismissal of Fathi in 2010 and was appointed as the substantial coach in January 2011 as he managed to bring at least one piece of silverware, beating Dynamos on a penalty shoot-out to lift the 2011 Independence trophy.
Masuku was thereafter replaced by the Zambian gaffer Kelvin Kaindu who has kept Bosso alive by winning the 2013 Mbada Diamond Cup while losing the Castle Premier Soccer League championship on a goal difference for the second consecutive year to bitter Harare rivals Dynamos Football Club.
