Magwegwe Y-stars U-14 0 vs 4 Ajax Hotspurs U-14
Magwegwe Y-stars U-16 1 vs 3 Ajax Hotspurs U-16
Magwegwe Y-stars U-18 1 vs 4 Ajax Hotspurs U-18.
Ajax Hotspurs U-14s pinned their opponents in their own half from the first whistle and it came as no surprise when Bekithemba Super Ndlovu of Highlanders first born Nkosana Brandon Ndlovu gave the visitors a well deserved lead with a well struck grassmower which nestled in the in far left corner. Midfield supremo Denzil Denzo Khumalo began to run rings around the home team's midfield a nd his searching ball from the centre of the park found Ashley Mapasure whose delivery into the enemy zone found the exciting Ronald Choga Kaunda whose first time volley sent the home team's goalie sprawling on the turf 2-0. In a typical under 14 goal Ajax were awarded a freekick on the left side of their attacking zone and Denzil took the responsibility to lob the keeper and stretch his team's lead to 3-0. In the second half Ajax Hotspurs wasted a host of chance to improve their goal difference and Ashley scored the only goal of the half to give Ajax a well deserved 4-0 win. In the Under 16s Ajax Hotspurs started on a low note with Magwegwe Youngstars knocking the ball around with aplomb. The visitors midfield was in sixes and sevens but against the run of play promising midfield general Freedom Domula Mabhena sweetly struck a left footer which left the home side wondering what had hit them. However their midfield did not relent and it came as no surprise when their striker Thabiso sweetly struck a deeping volley which left 12 year old Reward Muza a bemused spectator to restore parity and level the scores. Magwegwe Youngstars midfield marvel Abel Ndlovu was a delight to watch leaving Perfect Laza Chauke to chase shadows the whole first half. Once again against the run of play, a surging run from the left channel left defender sprawling on the ground and Velile Mahewu Siziba neatly struck a beauty on the roof of the net to leave the scores 2-1 at half-time. The introduction of Perfect Sibanda in the second half for Qhubekani Ngwenya closed shop in the Magwegwe Youngstars midfield and Ajax Hotspurs began to knock the ball around prizing open their opponents. Twice Samuel Madhamombe came face to face with Magwegwe young stars goalkeeper and twice he fluffed the chances that came his way. However Velile Siziba showed him how it is done with a neatly struck goal that killed off the match as a contest. Siziba could have claimed a hatrick but became indecisive when face to face with the keeper and his lob sailed over the horizontal bar.
In the under-18s Ajax Hotspurs midfied of Douglas Jeremiah, Chrispen Machisi, Wisdom Sibanda and Innocent Sibanda outclassed their opponents but the numerous passes they created werev wasted by the striking duo of Devine Lunga and Prince Hlabangane. The striking pair either took too long to shoot or they found a stumbling block in their former teammate and Magwegwe Youngstars defence starlwart Perlius Gattuso Sibanda who never put a foot wrong. The two teams went to the oranges level but a pep talk at half time saw Ajax Hotspurs comeback a rejuvinated side in the second half. The Ajax Hotspurs bench soon introduced their forceful super substitute Sotsha Muziri whose clever dummy left Prince Mpinju Hlabangane face to face with the goalkeeper and he neatly tucked the ball between the legs of and advancing Magwegwe Young stars goalkeeper. A tactical change by Magwegwe Young stars of pushing Perlius seemed to work wonders for a short while as he struck a beauty from the centre circle leaving impressive Ajax Hotspurs goalkeeper Vincent Chidembo a bemused spetactor. that was a goal worth winning any match in the world but Ajax Hotspurs led by exciting raw talent of Chrispen Machisi quickly restored their lead with a powerful headed goal by Frank Muzii of a beautiful cornerkick by Machisi. Ajax began to prize open their opponents led by Machisi whose trickery left the Magwegwe community asking for more. The Ajax Capetown attachee proved to all and sundry why John Comittis regretted why the youngstar was a foreigner when he was on attachment with their U-17 last year. The Under 20 Zimbabwe International trialist picked out Sotsha whose initial attempt was saved by the goalkeeper but his follow up from the acutest of angles nestled on the roof of the net to leave the spectactors shelled shocked 3-1 and it was one way traffic now. Some trickery on the ball left Magwegwe Young stars player with no option but to hack down Elijah Ngwenya. Up stepped defender Frank Muzii with a powerful shot that left the goalkeeper clutching thin air to grab a brace an immaculate return for a centre-half and 4-1 it ended for Ajax Hotspurs School Of Soccer Excellence to register a clean sweep.
