Dynamos newboy Masimba Mambare has broken his silence since his move to the Glamour Boys, insisting that he made the switch from Bulawayo giants Highlanders purely for footballing reasons.
Masimba Mambare told The Zimbabwe Mail his decision to cross the great divide was not meant to inflict pain on Highlanders supporters.
He insists he does not regret making the move and was now focusing on his career at his new club.
"After making that move, you would expect people to feel like that and respond in such a manner, but it has happened and life goes on. I still feel I made the right move," said Mambare.
Mambare said his decision to cross the floor from DeMbare's arch-rivals was not easy to come by, as he had settled at Emagumeni.
"My contract was coming to an end and I had to think about my future as a player. I had to make that bold decision, but the choice was not made overnight. I considered it over a long period of time."
The former Motor Action winger said he was confident that he would easily fit into the system at Dynamos after receiving a warm reception from fellow Dynamos players who were part of the Warriors' squad at Chan.
"Basing on the support that I have been getting from Dynamos fans and colleagues, I believe that I will fit well into the system, though it is inevitable that a certain section may not be happy about my switch from Bosso. I promise to deliver at Dynamos," said Mambare.
"There is no time to rest for me now since we will be facing Mochudi Centre Chiefs this coming weekend and I have to catch up on combinations with the rest of the squad. But I have a feeling that it won't be a tough thing since I have been with some of the guys for more than a month."
The new Dynamos midfielder said his new team should not take their opponents this coming weekend lightly.
"The fact that Mochudi Centre Chiefs are playing in the Champions League shows that they are a strong team, hence we should not underrate them when we clash in the first leg match of the preliminary round.
"We have to make sure that we capitalise on the fact that we are starting at home and make sure we go into the second match with a huge advantage," he said.
Turning to a successful campaign at the Chan tournament in which he was the first Warriors player to find the target, Mambare said it was a great thing for him to inspire the current squad into the history books, as they qualified for the knock-out stages of a continental tournament for the first time ever.
"It feels great to play a pivotal role in your nation's success story, especially considering that we are the first crop of national team players in proceed beyond the group stages in a continental cup," said Mambare.
"When we left the country in January, our main target was to progress beyond the group stages, and we were helped by the fact that a few people believed in us.
That that eased the pressure and we managed to progress."
