Mamelodi Sundowns-bound national team midfielder Kuda Mahachi started his half-a-season journey with Highlanders FC, training with the Bulawayo giants for the first time at White City Stadium this morning.
Mahachi will be at Highlanders until end of June when the South African transfer window opens on July 1.
In an interview this morning, Mahachi - a former Bosso Juniors' player - was elated with the "dream" move to Highlanders.
"Mamelodi Sundowns have given me the permission to train and play at Highlanders until June. I am looking forward to a wonderful stay at Highlanders. Remember, I was groomed at Bosso and there is no better way of bidding farewell to Zimbabwean football than playing for my childhood team," said the Mzilikazi-bred star.
Highlanders have been busy strengthening their squad and Mahachi becomes the eighth player to join Bosso during this transfer window. National team duo of striker Charles Sibanda and defender Felix Chindungwe, as well as Joel Ngodzo, Welcome Ndiweni, Khumbulani Banda, Valentine Ndaba and Njabulo Nyoni have completed moves to Bosso.
Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu is excited with Mahachi's presence as well as that of his other signings.
"Mahachi trained with us and his commitment level is awesome. It's great to have a player like him in your squad and we intend to get the best out of him during his stay," Kaindu said.
