BULAWAYO giants Highlanders are set to lose a number of players including the influential Ngodzo brothers Zephaniah and Joel over empty promises.
Zephaniah and Joel's contracts's with Highlanders end on December 31, which means they will be free agents and they will be eligible to join any team of their choice
According to reliable sources, the two have been refusing to sign new contracts at Highlanders indicating that they want out because of empty promises by the Bosso executive.
Bosso is embroiled in a squabble with the players over unpaid salaries and winning bonuses. Some of the players reported to be unhappy and on their way are Protasho Kabwe and Menard Mupera.
Zephaniah told reporters that he is not putting any ink to paper for any local team.
"Remember my job is football. I have my contract with Highlanders expiring at the end of this month so it's either I will be joining the great track down South Africa or crossing the border nearer home to Botswana. I just want to be open to you my friend; I am not going to sign for any local team anymore".
"There are a number of youngsters that I played with, they have since made it somewhere outside the country, what will stop me from doing the same?"
"I am sick and tired of empty promises from club officials but the truth of the matters is I am growing up, very soon I will be viewed as a veteran and there will be no more time to play".
"I think this is the right time to make a move. I know it will not be easy for Bosso supporters to accept it, but at times you have to take risks,"¬ù Zephaniah said.
Joel also echoed the same sentiments.
"I know I am still young but at times people must understand to pay someone what he deserves. I have to think about all this before I put pen to paper. But I can assure you, unless something dramatic happens, then I can sign for Bosso, but as it is, am on my way out" Joel said.
Both players dismissed rumours that they were heading for Harare to join Dynamos and take part in the Champions League next year.
"They can do what they (Dynamos) did last season to register me before talking to me but I don't think it will work".
They have since approached both of us but as I have already told you, we are not going to sign for a local club as of now, period"¬ù Zephaniah said.
Joel finished the season on a high note as he grabbed Highlanders' winner against FC Victoria in Masvingo in their last league match from a free kick.
