HIGHLANDERS coach Kelvin Kaindu will have more headaches in his striking options after striker Gabriel Nyoni suffered an injury in the Castle Lager Premier League match against Shabanie Mine that will see him out of action for more than six months.

Nyoni who replaced Charles Sibanda in the 59th minute only lasted 15 minutes on the pitch before he was taken out and eventually taken by ambulance. It was later discovered that the injury is severe.

Nyoni is the only outright striker who has been given game time.

The speed merchant is on crutches as he sustained a crack on his ankle.

"Doctors told me, I would be out for six months and its painful since its just the start of the season. I will fight to recover fast and be back sooner than expected," said Nyoni.

The striker is famous for his short dropping celebration that he did after scoring his maiden goal for Bosso last season.

The speedy forward had a fairy-tale maiden season with Bosso which saw him picking the accolade for the fastest goal of the tournament in the Mbada Diamonds Cup.

He had surprisingly been loaned out at the beginning of last year to Plumtree Chiefs where he made a mark prompting Highlanders to recall him.

The National University of Science and Technology undergraduate had previously played for Shooting Stars and Caps United.

Bosso will have no choice but to play around Ozias Zibande, Cleopas and Zimbabwe national Under-20 striker Sibanda.

Bosso despite having coaches envied by other clubs in its junior development, are still spending a fortune acquiring players from other clubs.
