Ajax Hotspurs Bite the Dust once again

Green Mambas (1)3 - 0 Ajax Hotspurs
Young Chrispen Machisi was missing in action
Ajax Hotspurs once again failed to turn their dominance into goals as Green Mambas white washed them 3 nil in a match played at Emakhandeni grounds. By far the better side of the day Hotspurs had Nqobilizwe Ncube and new signing Maxwell Mburayi in top form as they terrorised Mambas every time they had posession of the ball.
However Green Mambas used the counter attack into great effect punishing the Mpopoma based side with the gaps they leaved at the back each time they instituted their attacks. The first goal came off a set piece which caught the Ajax defence in sixes and sevens to leave the Green Mambas striker to send a flashing header past a badly exposed Thabani Moyo. Hotspurs tried in vain to comeback into the game and when Lovemore Phiri sent Nqobilizwe Ncube scampering through on goal everyone rose in great anticipation but Ncube took too long to be decisive and the Mambas keeper came out to smoother the imminent danger. This has been a brief summary of Hotspurs season failure to get goals leading to 9 draws 5 losses and a single win.
The second half was a similar affair with Mambas punishing Ajax Hotspurs twice when they went on a counter. Ajax Hotspurs missed the bite of the irrepressive Chrispen Machisi who was participating in the schools tournament at Gifford High school for Mpopoma and the ill Zimbabwe Under 20 trialist Thulani Thuske Gumede. The loss meant that Hotspurs failed to climb out of the relegation zone and the sooner they start converting their draws into wins the better for their survival.
