JUST a few months after joining FC Platinum from Highlanders, bustling striker Njabulo "Tshiki" Ncube has packed his bags from Zvishavane to Bulawayo where sources say he is negotiating his way back to his former paymasters.

A reliable source yesterday told Southern Eye Sport that Ncube, who penned a one-year deal with FC Platinum at the beginning of the year, is in Bulawayo and will soon be engaging Highlanders for a return.

"He (Ncube) is in Bulawayo and he has left FC Platinum. He wants to return to Highlanders and will soon be talking to them ahead of the transfer window. He is not going back to Zvishavane," the source said.

FC Platinum media liaison officer Chipo Chizondo yesterday confirmed Ncube's departure, but said they were talking to the player.

"He left Zvishavane and indications are that he is not coming back. He said he had family issues to attend to and he could only do that while he is in Bulawayo. But we are engaging him," Chizondo said.

Ncube, who scored 13 goals for Bosso last season, yesterday confirmed he was in Bulawayo, had come to attend to family issues, but remained tight-lipped about his departure from FC Platinum.

"I am in Bulawayo to visit my family," Ncube said.

However, sources have said Ncube, who had a good pre-season spell with FC Platinum, but has not had game time under Lloyd Mutasa since the league started, has his heart firmly at Highlanders. Two months after joining the Zvishavane-based outfit, Ncube was spotted at a Highlanders training session in April at White City Stadium.

When Ncube left Bosso in January he said: "It is sad that I leave Highlanders, a team that I have at heart, but I had to make some decisions important for me and my family as well. It is with a heavy heart that I leave Bosso. They will always be my team."

Other players that have left FC Platinum to retrace their careers to Highlanders are Charles Sibanda, who played briefly for Bosso juniors, Welcome Ndiweni and Joel Ngodzo.
