Violence reared its ugly head once again at Barbourfields Stadium spoiling Highlanders' win over How Mine.

Highlanders won the match 2-1 courtesy of goals by Gabriel Nyoni and Simon Munawa a result that sees them back on top of the log table.

However at the halftime break Highlanders fans at the Soweto stand threw missiles that struck and injured two How Mine players Mernard Mupera and Xolisani Moyo

Both players were reported to be fine after receiving medical attention and came back for the second half.

The problems started when the referee whistle's blew to end the half and How Mine players walked towards the Soweto goal line a move that angered Highlanders fans at the Soweto Stand who responded by throwing missiles at the How Mine players. Despite the shower of missiles (and very strangely) the How Mine players remained standing near the Soweto goals

Highlanders are now set to attract a fine from the PSL after the behaviour shown by their fans, the match was beamed live on Supersport .

The PSL has promised to come hard on unsporting behaviour and urged clubs and their fans to behave in a professional manner to give the local game a good image.
