Zimbabwe Warriors jumps on FIFA world rankings

The Zimbabwe football team has massively climbed by 38 positions in the #confederation=0&rank=205&page=2">latest FIFA world rankings.

After climbing 2 positions to 126 in May from 129 in March -- the team's worst ranking in its history – The Zimbabwe Warriors climbed 39 positions to 87 in the rankings released on Monday.

Zimbabwe Warriors garnered 161 points during the period reviewed.

In Africa, Zimbabwe moved from position 35 to 22 which is a great improvement for the Norman Mapeza led Warriors.

This comes just after some good performances by Mapeza's team.

World and European champions Spain stay top while Mexico jump 19  places to ninth.

Mexico's CONCACAF Gold Cup victory has propelled them into the top 10 for the first time since July 2007.

Spain lead unchanged second-placed Netherlands while Germany are  up one place to third and England up two places to fourth.

Brazil are down two to fifth while Argentina drop five places to  10th. World Cup semi-finalists Uruguay are another South American team to lose ground, falling 11 places to 18th.

However, the forthcoming Copa America will give all of the South  American teams opportunity to gain points.
