NJABULO "Tshiki" Ncube has completed his return to Highlanders while Triangle and Warriors striker Pascal Manhanga was set to be added to the black and white army to beef up for the second half of the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
Ncube was cleared by FC Platinum yesterday while Manhanga was on his way to the City of Kings as Bosso hurried to beat the midnight mid-term transfer window deadline to register the two players.
Highlanders will take on How Mine in the reverse league fixture on Sunday at Barbourfields (BF) Stadium after beating the gold miners 2-1 on July 6.
The signing of Ncube and Manhanga is a timely boost for Bosso in the second half of the season. They will lock horns with Black Rhinos at Rimuka next week before hosting bogey side Dynamos in Round 19 at BF.
Bosso chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede said they were making final touches to their registration papers before handing the names to the PSL to add on to Tapiwa Dephistara, Webster Chingodza and King Nadolo who are already in.
"I have just received the clearance for Njabulo Ncube from FC Platinum and we are just waiting for him so that we can finalise and register him. The stumbling block was the money that he owed FC Platinum but we now have his clearance. That is with the case with Pascal (Manhanga) who is on his way to Bulawayo with his papers. We are going to register both of them," he said yesterday morning.
Dephistara is likely to make his debut for the Bosso on Sunday. He did not feature in the goalless draw against Bantu Rovers in the last match at BF while Chingodza — expected to solve the right-back headache for Highlanders — could also be thrown into the fray against How Mine.
Chingodza, a former Tripple B player, has been training with Highlanders for the past two weeks.
But focus on Sunday will be on the two leading goalscorers — Highlanders' Charles Sibanda with 10 goals and How Mine's Kuda Musharu with eight.
Bosso head coach Kelvin Kaindu has collected eight points from four city derbies beating How Mine and Bantu Rovers and sharing the spoils with Chicken Inn and Methembe Ndlovu's Tshintsha Guluva.
By last Sunday, his counterpart Philani "Beefy" Ncube — who has found the going tough of late — had picked up three points from three Bulawayo derbies, beating Chicken Inn 2-1, losing to Bantu Rovers 1-3 and to Highlanders 1-2.
It will definitely be a revenge match for How Mine who lost the first league match to Bosso. But the gold miners would like to pick up from where they left when they beat Highlanders 4-3 in a penalty shoot-out to go through to the semi-final of the One Wallet Cup at Ascot Stadium in Gweru.
How Mine have made some additions to their squad in mid-season with former Shabanie Mine striker Caleb Masocha and Mandla Sibanda who was based in Botswana where he was playing for Ecco City.
How Mine last won in the league when they beat Buffaloes 2-1 in Mutare and have lost four matches in succession, back-to-back to Black Rhinos, Triangle and Highlanders, punctuated by a goalless draw to FC Platinum.
