Bosso ready for Shabanie

Highlanders gaffer Kevin Kaindu says his charges are ready to bounce back to winning ways when they travel to Gweru to face Shabanie Mine in a Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final clash at Ascot Stadium.

The game was initially scheduled for Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo, but had to be moved to the Midlands capital as the former was closed to undergo renovations in preparation for the AUSC Region V Youth Games.

The Bulawayo giants, who have been struggling with finding the back of the net after the resumption of the league following the mid-season break, will be looking to record their first victory at the stadium where they have not won in two previous outings.

In their first match at Ascot, Highlanders played out a goalless draw with premiership returnees Chapungu on April 5, before losing to fellow Bulawayo outfit How Mine in the One Wallet Cup at the same venue on July 19.

However, Bosso coach Kaindu said they were going there to win despite their unimpressive record at the venue.

"We cannot complain about where we are going to play because it is the sponsor's decision, but what I can say is that we are going there with a win in mind," said Kaindu.

"I know that we have not been scoring of late, but the fact that we are the team with the highest goal difference in the league shows that we can do it and I believe this is the right time."

Bosso received a timely boost this week with the return of speedy forward Gabriel Nyoni, who missed their last three games with a knee problem, while fullback Simon Munawa is also back in the reckoning after recovering from injury.

Highlanders will be targeting the $75 000 winners cheque in the Chibuku Cup to make up for the disappointment of their early elimination from the inaugural One Wallet Cup.
