Bosso hike gate charges

BULAWAYO giants Highlanders have hiked gate charges for tomorrow's Castle Lager Premier Soccer League encounter against Triangle United set for Hartsfield Grounds to control crowds.
The club said the move is part of measures to restrict numbers as a big crowd might not be accommodated at the stadium.
Fans will pay $5 for rest of the ground, $10 for the wings while the VIP tribune has been pegged at $20.
"This has nothing to do with trying to maximise revenue but purely our control mechanism lest the ground becomes overwhelmed," said the Highlanders chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede yesterday.
The Hartsfield Grounds, owned by the Matabeleland Football Rugby Board, has a capacity of slightly over 5,000.
Credit should be given to the owners of the venue as they have already erected a perimeter fence around the pitch so as to avoid unnecessary pitch invasions by overzealous fans.
This afternoon, Bantu Rovers and How Mine will get the ball rolling against Harare City and Buffaloes respectively.
Tshintsha Guluva will set the pace in an early kick-off match before the gold miners play host to the Mutare visitors.
Meanwhile, Highlanders have appealed to supporters not to park their vehicles inside or on spaces surrounding Hartsfield Grounds as the field is in a residential area.
The club has instead asked its supporters to park their vehicles at the clubhouse where security will be provided.
"We appeal to our fans not to bring their cars anywhere inside or near the grounds. We are in a residential area and we fear some people might have the audacity of even parking infront of someone's gate or offices," said Gumede.
The veteran administrator said they would open eight turnstiles with Gate One, near AmaZulu grounds for the privilege card holders as well as VVIPs who are also expected not to bring their cars into the stadium.
Highlanders will be hoping to continue from their Chibuku Cup triumph over Shabanie Mine and transform their winning form into the league.
Bosso dispatched the former asbestos miners with a Pasca Manhanga wonder strike, 10 minutes before the breather.
Manhanga, a product of the Zimbabwe National Youth Games who was plucked from the 2005 Manicaland provincial squad team by Tsholotsho FC coach Lizwe Sweswe as a 16-year-old boy, will face his former paymasters for the first time since his move to Bulawayo.
Kelvin Kaindu has not picked up maximum points since the beginning of the second half, only managing two points out of a possible 12 following two draws and two defeats to Black Rhinos and Dynamos.
Amahlolanyama are fourth on the table, three points behind leaders ZPC (Kariba) and second placed Dynamos.
