Bulawayo giants Highlanders resume their chase for a first league title since 2006 today when they host Buffaloes at Hartsfield Grounds.
Bosso, who are currently placed second on the log with 38 points from 21 games, go into today's match on the back of a hard-earned 1-0 victory over FC Platinum in their last league game on August 24, a result that catapulted them back into the title mix.
And while they were not involved in last weekend's One Wallet Cup semi-finals as they had been knocked out by city rivals How Mine in the previous round, assistant coach Mark Mathe believes the extended break was a welcome relief for the team.
"The early knockout was a blessing in disguise as this 10-day break gave us adequate time to work on our shortcomings," he said.
"This year the chase for the title is different and difficult as compared to the previous seasons as more than five teams are in the running. The tight schedule has also been hard on the players so for us, the break gave the players enough time to rehabilitate."
Bosso's opponents today, Buffaloes, will also be taking to the field for the first time since August 24 when they were held to a 2-2 draw by fellow army outfit Black Rhinos.
Today's match will also be newly appointed head coach Moses 'Bambo' Chunga's first game in charge of Buffaloes.
Meanwhile, in the other league matches scheduled for today, Chapungu host Chicken Inn at Ascot Stadium in Gweru, while another uniformed forces side Black Rhinos welcome Harare City to their Rimuka Stadium cauldron in Kadoma.
At Gibbo Stadium in Chiredzi, Triangle United are up against FC Platinum.
