The National University of Science and Technology football team were Thursday given a shot in the arm by a South Africa-based company which handed over a football kit.

The company, Valangebhetshu Skills Agenda Training, along with their partner Nkosana Mguni of SCORE SA, donated balls and kits to the team at a function held at the institution's premises in Bulawayo yesterday.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, managing director of Vb Skills Agenda, Maxian Nkompilo said the donation was the company's way of giving back to the community.

"We realised that the team was in dire need of resource injection and we decided to help because they were the ones who nurtured me.

"It is also a move to promote professionalism within their structures," he said.

The chairman of the team, Munyaradzi Murape said the sponsorship would contribute to the team's success.

"It is quite a huge gesture towards our development because now we have more resources to take us further even to the top flight league," he said.
