HIGHLANDERS Football Club chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede says Kevin Kaindu should just do the 'honourable' thing and resign before he is fired by the club as a result of a string of loses the Zambian gaffer has suffered during this season.

Bosso's embarrassing 1 - 3 defeat at the hands of ruthless ZPC Kariba could be a sure sign of the premature end of Kaindu's tenure at one of the biggest clubs in Zimbabwe whose woes began this season after losing to their perennial rivals 1 - 4 at the National Sports Stadium in the TM Cup game.

The beleaguered yesterday left the stadium scarring for cover as an angry mob of Bosso fans started pelting stones wantonly at him and his technical bench which has been accused of failing the Bosso family.

Both teams had to race to the centre circle where they cowered for 10 minutes as police battled to clear the ground of rowdy fans who were throwing stones and bottles at the players'.

Yesterday Gumede who is also under-pressure to address the woes currently bedeviling the club suggested steeping down is the best option for the Zambian national.

"He should just do the honourable thing and resign. As an executive we cannot say anything for now until after tomorrow (tonight) evening's meeting. But look, we were fighting for 21 points, but as things stand now, Dynamos are now on 46 points, ZPC Kariba on 44, Caps United won yesterday (Saturday) and they are now on 42 points and we remain on 39.

We have gone down. It's actually not going down. It's a slide. Hwange is playing tomorrow (today) and if they win, they would be on top of us. I think what the coach must do is the honourable thing and just resign," Gumede told the media yesterday.

However, Kaindu, who was holed up in the dressing room with his assistants and the medical team for close to one-and-half hours said he would not comment on what the executive had said.

Even after the match, there was speculation that Kaindu had bid farewell to the players, but the Zambian mentor refuted the claims as mere rumours.

Although the loss has dashed hopes of winning the league title, the optimistic coach yesterday told the media that he was not under pressure at all insisting no club had been declared champions yet.
