Caps United handed troubled Bulawayo giants, Highlanders their heaviest defeat of the season, winning 4-nil at the National Sports Stadium to put pressure on premiership log leaders, Dynamos, who also won their tricky fixture away to Buffaloes.

Popular sports journalist, Sikhumbuzo Moyo Sithole, posted on his facebook profile that four Bosso players were spotted at horizon pub 12:30am on Saturday morning just hours before the team left for the Caps match.

The Green Machine lost the reverse fixture 4-nil earlier this year and went into this match with a revenge mission that would also cement a top four finish and probably the premiership crown for United.

A top four finish would ensure qualification into the Mbada Diamonds Cup, but Caps United now seem poised to a fight for the premiership crown.

In today's match, the Harare side showed their intentions of sending Bosso, whose head coach Kelvin Kaindu left the club last week, to the cleaners.

Three first half goals ensured a comfortable afternoon for Caps United, who still had energy in the second half to match the score-line that Bosso managed against them in the first leg.

Caps United (45 points) are still two points behind second placed ZPC Kariba and four behind leaders Dynamos, who sit pretty on 49 points.

ZPC Kariba led the premiership race for 24 hours after a 1-nil victory over Triangle on Saturday before DeMbare returned to the summit of the log courtesy of a Washington Pakamisa strike that sinked Buffaloes at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare.

In other matches played this afternoon Shabanie Mine beat Chapunu 1-nil, while relegation threatened How Mine edged Hwange 2-1.
