Charles Sibanda bemoans Kaindu's exit

Charles Sibanda feels the departure of Kelvin Kaindu came at the wrong time and had a negative impact as Highlanders suffered a 4-0 defeat to CAPS United on Sunday.
Goals from Ismael Thindwa, Nicholas Alifandika, Kelvin Bulaji and a Dumisani Ndlovu own goal ensured Makepekepe condemned the Bulawayo giants to their third straight defeat.
The defeat came on the back of Kaindu's resignation following pressure from the team's fans and the executive, who cited poor results.
And Mark Mathe, who took charge of Bosso on an interim basis, could do little as the Green Machine ran riot at the National Sports Stadium which all but ended Highlander's hopes of winning the league title.
The Bulawayo giants are now 10 points behind log leaders Dynamos with only five games to go before the season ends.
Bosso are also in danger of failing to defend their Mbada Diamonds Cup crown they won last year if they fail to finish in the top four.
Highlanders are now in fourth place on the log with 39 points but they face stiff competition from Chicken Inn, FC Platinum and Hwange for that final Mbada Diamonds Cup semi-final slot.
The tournament will be played under a new format this year that will only see the four teams finish in the top four at the end of the season taking part.
Sibanda feels the decision to let go of the Zambian came at a wrong time towards the business end of the season.
"The departure of Kaindu is obviously having an effect on our play," Sibanda told the Daily News after the defeat to Makepekepe.
"Everyone was used to his type of play and when you change coaches they bring their own style and that's what happened today. There was change in positions but I think if we had won we could have smiled."
Sibanda, who has been one of Bosso's standout players thus far this season, believes they still have an outside chance of winning the championship.
"I think a lapse of concentration cost us the match. We failed to do the simple things and we were punished for that," said the former FC Platinum forward.
"I think we still have an outside chance to win the championship. We need to soldier on; there are still 15 points to play for and there is going to be lot of twist and turns."
It has since emerged that there is a huge discontent in the Bosso camp as some senior players are not happy with the appointment of Mathe as the coach.
At the end of the match, Highlanders fans also waylaid the team bus at the stadium's exit calling for Mathe's head.
