THE Ministry of Sports, Arts and Culture is expressed disappointment over the dirtiness of the City of Kings and Queens ahead of the Zone V1 Youth Games scheduled for December as the local authority fails to collect refuse littering the host city.

The state of cleanliness in the 'chosen' city is worrying Sports, Arts and Culture minister Andrew Langa and his counterpart former Education, Sports, Arts and Culture minister David Coltart.

Langa and his crew bemoaned the state of Bulawayo during a tour of sporting centres where some of the sporting disciplines will be hosted.

Coltart who is hailed for transforming the then education, sports, arts and culture during the Government of National Unity, lamented the cleanliness of streets in Bulawayo and various centres where hosts will stay saying they were 'unfit' to host the December games.

"I am very much worried about the cleanliness of our city ahead of the Youth Games," Coltart was quoted as saying in the Press.

"Bulawayo is known for being of the cleanest cities in the world hence we need to put our house in order by clearing this litter before visitors come," he said.

Coltart who initiated preparations for the games during his tenure in government was roped in by President Mugabe to assist the organizing crew.

Bulawayo Mayor Thaba Moyo however, allayed fears saying the local authority has begun collecting refuse and urged residents to help tide up the city ahead of the illustrious competition
