Highlanders goalkeeper Munyaradzi Diya is taking time to extend his Bosso stay as a number of players face the exit door after this season.
Diya's contract ends next month and negotiations for a new deal opened two weeks ago but nothing has been agreed upon yet.
The 29-year-old's delay in penning a new deal has fuelled speculation that he is headed to his boyhood club Dynamos.
Bosso chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede (pictured right) said they were failing to agree with Diya on salary.
"Talks are still ongoing. The delay in him signing is due to remuneration issues. We are still discussing and hopefully [we will] agree soon before his contracts runs out," said Gumede.
The player himself also confirmed that they are discussing but declined to dwell on why it was taking long to reach common ground.
"Nothing has been finalised as yet, we are still talking," said Diya.
In August Diya had unsuccessful trials with South African National First Division side Witbank Spurs.
He also auditioned at another South African club Golden Arrows last year.
Following their league season that turned out poor towards the end, Highlanders are said to be planning a major clean-up of players.
Sources at the club say midfielder Joel Ngodzo who has made headlines for indiscipline will not be offered a new deal.
Hillary Madzivanyika and Simon Munawa will also be out of contract next month while Njabulo Ncube is said to have fallen out with the club executive over disciplinary issues.
Gumede however dismissed reports that a clear-out is looming at the club.
"Hillary Madzivanyika has indicated that he is not renewing his contract. We are talking to other players though. It is the prerogative of the coach to bring on board the players he wants. The new coach will decide which players he wants us to have their contracts renewed," said Gumede.
Striker Sibanda has already made it clear that he would not be renewing his contract which expires next month.
It is believed Sibanda is eyeing a move to South African struggling outfit AmaZulu who are keen on him after the striker tried out at the Durban side earlier this year.
Reports suggest that Amazulu opted not to sign him in July as they waited for him to become a free agent in January.
Having led the scoring chart this season, a January move to AmaZulu is most likely.
Gumede said a new coach to replace Kelvin Kaindu would be announced before the end of the year to give him time to work on the next season's squad.
"The search for a new coach is work in progress. We expect to have a new man anytime soon. We cannot wait for February when the new season is about to start," Gumede said.
"We just wait for Mark Mathe [interim coach] to finish this season. The club's board of directors met this week [last week] and I am told the issue of the coach topped the agenda. There are so many things to consider though before we have a new coach."
Rahman Gumbo, Philani Ncube and Zambian gaffer Tennant Chilumba are rumoured to be some of the coaches the club has lined up as Kaindu's possible replacements.
