Bantu Rovers president Methembe Ndlovu who doubles up as the club's head coach is reportedly courting newly promoted Tsholotsho FC for a Premier Soccer League partnership or sale of franchise, Soccer 24 has learnt.
Bantu Rovers, a yo-yo, club bought their way back into the PSL at the beginning of this year after clinching a "partnership" deal Plumtree Chiefs, only to be relegated after 11 months later.
"He (Methembe) has been frantically making efforts to engage Tsholotsho FC leaders on a partnership that will result in him buying the franchise. He has been talking to them and nothing has materialised yet. In one of our meetings as Tsholotsho FC it was stated that he met our club leaders," said a Tsholotsho FC insider.
"What we know is that if Bantu Rovers do bounces back it will take our place in the premiership," added the Zhwane Boys insider.
Contacted for comment Tsholotsho FC sole sponsor Mandla Manyathela was diplomatic in his response. "People can always say what they want.
I'm not aware of Bantu Rovers' intentions, I'm sorry," said Manyathela.
Bantu Rovers secretary-general said: "We are only concreting on our forthcoming Division One League campaign.
