Onias 'Buju' Nkomo has died

Makhandeni City Pirates coach Onias "Buju" Nkomo has died. The country has been robbed of a young and ambitious great soccer coaching talent.

Onias worked as a Salaries Officer in Zimbabwe Defence Forces for 10 years. He started his soccer coaching career in 2001 in Bulawayo coaching Maunga juniors in Emakhandeni.

He coached juniors and seniors teams at schools in Bulawayo, Harare, South Africa, Mozambique, Botswana. At the time of his death, he had completed his Level 4 Coaching Certificate with a B grade pass. During the 2010 South Africa World Cup he worked at FIFA HQ in Sandton and IBC in Soccer City (FNB Stadium).

On his face book profile, friends have started sending condolence messages. Sotsha Mafu, friend and former team mate, wrote RIP BUJU JAH MAN THE LEGEND. JOBE 7VS 7 ND 14.

Siphambaniso Dube of Ajax Hotspurs also sent his message of condolences, "We have learnt with deep shock that Makhandeni City Pirates Coach Onias "Buju" Nkomo has passed on as a club Ajax Hotspurs Football Club we pass our sincere condolences to his immediate family and Makhandeni City Pirates. He was young he had ambition and above all great talent May His Soul Rest in Peace Fare Thee Well My Brother God be with you."
