Zimbabwe national women's soccer team head coach Rosemary Mugadza has been fired.

Mugadza together with her assistant Mebelo Njekwa, goalkeepers coach Ndega Matsika and kit manager Fungai Nyamutukwa had their contracts terminated by ZIFA.

Mugadza has been the Mighty Warriors head coach for the past nine years.

ZIFA says the move is part of a restructuring programme.

Close sources, however, say the decision to fire Mugadza is more aligned to organisational politics as the current ZIFA leadership is said to have been unhappy with Mugadza for picking players that are taking part in the women's football league led by Miriam Sibanda.

Mugadza's sacking comes at a time the Mighty Warriors are bracing up for a crucial Olympic Games qualifier against Cameroon.

In a news release posted on the Zimbabwe Football Associations website, Patrick Dhaka has been appointed the Mighty Warriors technical director.

Shadreck Mlauzi has been named the new Mighty Warriors head coach.

Mlauzi will be assisted by Sithethelelwe Sibanda and Johanne Chikaola.

Peter Masibero has been appointed the new goalkeepers coach with former Mighty Warriors goalkeeper Onai Chingawo handed with the kit manager's position.
