VETERAN former Highlanders coach Barry Daka has bounced back into the mainstream Zimbabwean football landscape after being appointed Mighty Warriors' technical advisor following the sacking of the Rosemary Mugadza led technical bench yesterday.

Daka, who has been coaching in Botswana for more than a decade, bounces back into national team structures 15 years after deputising his predecessor now, Misheck Chidzambwa when they convincingly won the 2000 Cosafa Cup, beating Lesotho 3-0 home and away for a 6-0 aggregate win.

"It feels great to be back," said Daka when contacted yesterday following his appointment. Meanwhile, Zifa yesterday announced the dissolution of the Mugadza led technical team that included Hwange assistant coach Mebelo Njekwa, goalkeepers' coach Ndega Matsika and kit manager Fungai Nyamutukwa.

Team manager Charity Mudzviti Munemo retained her team managerial role in the new look technical team. "Members of the Mighty Warriors technical team have been relieved of their duties with immediate effect. The decision is part of the Association's administration structural review programme.

Head coach Rosemary Mugadza, assistant coach Mebelo Njekwa, goalkeepers coach Ndega Matsika and kit manager Fungai Nyamutukwa are no longer part of the senior women technical set up. The Association is grateful for the services they rendered to the nation," said Zifa in a statement yesterday.

Bulawayo's Inline coach Shadreck Mlauzi is now the Mighty Warriors head coach, assisted by Sithethelelwe 'Kwinji 15' Sibanda and Johanne Chikaola. Peter Masibero comes in as the goalkeeper's coach while former Mighty Warriors goalkeeper, Onai Chingawo is now the new kit manager taking over from another national team star Nyamutukwa.

The new technical team is expected to produce team list by Monday for the game against Olympic qualifier Cameroon.
