Warriors' star Kuda Mahachi says he might hang his boots and return to school since this time around his club Mamelodi Sundowns did not register him.
Mahachi is currently at his parents' residence in Bulawayo where he is seriously thinking about quitting football for one or two years to do Technical Graphics.
Mahachi did not come out in the open about why he really wants to quit football since he can still play football while doing his studies. He says he informed his father of his decision to quit football and return to school and his father agreed to his decision.
"I am quitting football for a while maybe for a year or two.
"I am going back to school to do Technical Graphics, it happens in football and I don't know how it happens but I have made my decision.
"I told my father of my thoughts and the decision I have made and he was very understanding about the issue," Mahachi said. Mahachi was part of the squad that took part in the Nations Cup tie that ended 1-1 with Guinea at Rufaro.
Mahachi started the game on the bench and got some game time towards the end of the second half as a substituted for Khama Billiat.
It's going to come as a shock to many football enthusiasts since the youngster was showing a lot of potential in football.
Most of the foreign based players and the local players rushed back to their respective clubs following their draw with Guinea but Mahachi left for his parents' residence while he thinks about his future.
"I am thinking of quitting football even for the national team, when I left camp I came to Bulawayo to my parents' house where I am currently staying.
"I will return very soon to football I just want to iron out some issues and my father will help me with the things I want to do," he said. Mahachi has played for Chicken Inn and Highlanders in Bulawayo as well as Mamelodi Sundowns in South Africa.
In 2014 Mahachi went for trials at Monaco in France, which wanted to buy him after a sterling performance at the African nations Championships played in South Africa. Highlanders came out in the open that they would welcome Mahachi if he thinks of returning to Zimbabwean football.
