VETERAN Zimbabwe international midfielder Esrom Nyandoro is to venture into coaching after his South African club Mamelodi Sundowns announced that they have elevated him to the technical department of their reserve side.
The club have been looking for a role at Chloorkop to reward Nyandoro, who offered the club 11 years of service and the departure of Alex "Barnes" Bapela has given Nyandoro an opportunity to join the dressing room.
With Bapela's departure, Nyandoro has been handed his former role as assistant coach of the MDC side and will be working alongside Notoane.
"Barnes" was demoted from his position as head of the MultiChoice Diski Challenge team ahead of the 2015/16 season.
The former midfielder made his grievances with the situation known and has now parted ways with the Chloorkop-based outfit.
"Dismissed coach Alex Bapela is still awaiting his letter of dismissal. He parted ways with the club following his problematic relationship with the technical team, who (allegedly) instigated his sacking by demoting him as first team assistant last year," a Siya source indicated.
"Ahead of the 2015/16 season, Bapela was demoted as the head coach of MultiChoice Diski Challenge side to assist David Notoane, despite having led the Diski side to the final last season. This sparked a reaction and he decided not to follow instructions to assist Coach Notoane and made his thoughts known.
"Bapela was told he would get the letter of his expulsion last week, but it has not been the case. He is hoping to get legal advice on his dismissal.
Bapela challenged the motive to demote him as he felt no matter how well he did in his job, he was still not appreciated," the source added.
Meanwhile, the club have been looking for a role at Chloorkop to reward Nyandoro, who offered the club more than a decade of duty.
