Bulawayo City Council bank-rolled outfit Bulawayo City snatched the sole Southern Region Division One League ticket into top flight football after narrowly edging Trumus 1-0 in Victoria Falls yesterday.
The precious three points ensured that the Philani "Beefy" Ncube-coached side reached an assailable 65 points with two games to spare.
Results from other matches will no longer have any bearing to the championship puzzle.
Winning all the matches by Bulawayo Chiefs, who have been breathing neck-to-neck with Premiership-bound Bulawayo City, will only see them going as far as 64 points.
The battle continues as teams fight to finish the season in respectable positions, with the title having gone already, while bottom-placed clubs continue to fight for survival.
