Bosso Chairman points fingers at faceless characters

HIGHLANDERS chairman Peter Dube has blamed people that he did not name for the ailing giants' shock deterioration.
Addressing journalists at the club's traditional Thursday Press conferences yesterday, Dube said it was unfair that the same people he did not name were behind the sacking of coaches Kelvin Kaindu and Bongani Mafu, and were now trying to impose their own coach on Bosso.
"On players, you have a player wanting to negotiate, then the next thing he is in, the next you look for him, the player is gone and you ask yourself if it's a young player, are they helping him in his career or they have already misled him" said Dube.
This could have been in apparent reference to 22-year-old Ozias Zibande whose contract was not renewed during the second transfer window in July because Bosso's then head coach Mafu and chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede made the same allegations about the player at that time.
Zibande eventually joined Gaborone United in Botswana coached by Rahman Gumbo.
"These are the same people. It's not fair, it's not nice. You get a player writing to you a whole page of a letter and you can tell that this is not the same player we know who wrote the letter, so how will the same player perform for you? They are the same people who hounded Kaindu out of here; they are the same people who hounded Mafu out of here and the same people now want to force their own coach here. What is the interest?" said Dube.
Radio personality Ezra "Tshisa" Sibanda was thought to have pushed for the appointment of Scotsman Des Buplin as Bosso coach to replace Kaindu before the beginning of this season, but the board blocked his employment in favour of Mafu.
This week, the dub's long time benefactor and Deputy Minister of War Veterans, War Collaborators and Detainees Tshinga Dube recommended Dutch coach Erol Akbay for one of the toughest coaching jobs in the country.
Dube said he believed the Dutchman would be affordable for Bosso and is good man who is keen to work in Africa.
Dube said he questioned the credentials of Mafu when he was appointed Highlanders' coach because little was known about him and accused the incumbent dub leadership of treating it as their personal project when it is a community team.
