HIGHLANDERS yesterday finally took delivery of the bus donated to the club by Nyaradzo Funeral Assurance Company two years ago. Bosso were handed the bus at Nyaradzo's Tshabalala suburb complex at a low key event that was attended by Highlanders' officials and a few players.

A contractual impasse between Highlanders and their principal sponsors BancABC had stopped Bosso from accepting the bus, although Dynamos, who are also sponsored by BancABC, had no problems using the Nyaradzo donated coach.

Highlanders had ceded all rights to BancABC when accepting the financial institution's sponsorship package, meaning they had to negotiate with the sponsor to avoid infringing on their agreement.

Highlanders' chief executive officer Ndumiso Gumede expressed his gratitude to Nyaradzo and said they would use the new wheels for long trips while the bus acquired with the assistance of club benefactor Tshinga Dube would be used only in Bulawayo.

"We want to thank Nyaradzo for their patience and our sponsors BancABC for having the courage to relax some of the clauses in our agreement to allow us to get into an agreement with Nyaradzo while we are still under their sponsorship. We are quite elated about getting the outstanding Nyaradzo bus," said Gumede.

The Nyaradzo bus also comes with conditions that Highlanders must have at least 300 new members from their supporters that join the Nyaradzo funeral policy per month for the next five years.

With two buses, Bosso's transport woes will be a thing of the past and the club stands to save a substantial amount of money which they had been using to hire transport for away matches.

Bosso board chairman Mgcini Nkolomi said Nyaradzo group chief executive officer Phillip Makanyika was impressed with Highlanders' adherence to corporate governance values.

"Today we're celebrating fruits of sticking to corporate values. We got high praises from the Nyaradzo CEO who admired our decision to stick to corporate governance values," said Nkolomi.
