Dembare referee's blunder robs Comoros against Ghana

Zimbabwean referee Norman Matemera has torched a storm after allegedly robbing Comoros of their first ever victory over Ghana.
Matemera allowed a mistake by his assistant referee Tapfumaneyi Mutengwa to stand denying Comoros a goal.
Matemere is no stranger to controversy, he is the controversial Harare referee who once failed his fitness test at the National University of Science and Technology.
Matemera was assisted by compatriots Tapfumanei Mutengwa and Salani Ncube in the assistant 1 and assistant 2 roles respectively. Ruzive Ruzive, who is also not new to match officiating controversies, was the reserve referee while Yigzaw Ambaw Bezuayehu from Ethiopia was the referee assessor.
Matemera was in the eye of a big storm last November in the Chibuku Super Cup final between FC Platinum and Harare City at Mandava Stadium which ended 1-1 after extra time and the Zvishavane side triumphed in the penalty shootout. Platinum's Walter Musona scrambled home a late equaliser, four minutes into Matemera's added time which City claimed had not crossed the line.
Two seasons ago, Matemera added three more minutes, in addition to the four minutes he had put up during the Highlanders-Dynamos match when the Bulawayo side was leading 1-0 at Rufaro. Dynamos equalised in the 'Jaure time' to steal a point.
The islanders of Comoros are seething with anger after being denied victory over Ghana in the 2018 World Cup qualifying round.
Watch the disallowed goal
Matemera who is reported to have had a very good game officiating is being attacked for allowing an error of judgemental by his assistant Mutengwa to stand.
Mutengwa flagged offside to substitute Ali M'madi who had earned a deflected ball and sneaked in from behind to head past Ghana's goalkeeper Razak Brimah in the 81st minute at the Stade Said Mohamed Cheikh.
The disallowed goal, a clearly clean goal, could have given the Comoros an extraordinary and historic win against the star studded three-time World Cup qualifiers Ghana.
Mutengwa was in the company of Matemera as centre referee, Salani Ncube as 2nd assistant and Ruzive Ruzive as the 4th official.
For Mutengwa, this is not the first time he has attracted controversy as he was withdrawn from the list of referees at the September 2015 African Games held in Brazzaville after failing a fitness test.
