HIGHLANDERS received a major boost on Friday when their chief striker Knox Mutizwa returned home from a second trial stint with South African Absa Premiership log leaders Bidvest Wits.

The top striker netted Highlanders' second goal when Bosso defeated Dynamos 2-1 in the Easycall Cup semi final at Barbourfields last Sunday and much is expected of him in today's final.

Mutizwa's camp is also confident that the 2015 Castle Lager Premier Soccer League Golden Boot winner will clinch a deal with Bidvest Wits.

According to the player's manager Gibson Mahachi, Mutizwa impressed The Students' coach Gavin Hunt who is desperately hunting for a top notch striker.

Wits, who are also home to former Warriors left back Onismor Bhasera and former Caps United winger Gerald "Papa" Phiri, are expected to communicate their position on Tuesday.

"I can confirm that Knox (Mutizwa) is back for the Easycall Cup final. He did very well at Wits and from the look of it, the club was impressed.

"We are now waiting for formal communication from the club and that should be on Tuesday," said Mahachi.

Should Mutizwa fail to make the grade, the Young Warriors striker also has local suitors, chief among them Caps United and FC Platinum.
