Kaindu spotted at How Mine

WANT-AWAY Triangle United coach Kelvin Kaindu was spotted at How Mine's first day of pre-season training on Wednesday, but the gold miners have insisted that the Zambian has not penned any deal with them.

Kaindu reportedly has a running contract with the Lowveld outfit, but is alleged to have already agreed personal terms with How Mine, according to well placed sources.

However, How Mine chairman Paul Mac Andrew reiterated that their new coach would only be revealed once all loose ends have been tied, but did not deny or confirm that the former Highlanders gaffer watched the gold miners' first pre-season training from the terraces.

"Why are people talking like that? We haven't got a substantive coach as yet, but once he signs on the dotted line, then the whole world will know his identity," said Andrew.

He said Wednesday's session was conducted by their co-caretaker coaches Sheunesu Chaka and Jeremiah Makota

A How Mine insider said Kaindu was present at the training session but the club could not officially confirm that because he still has contractual relations with Triangle United.

"It might jeopardise whatever talks he is having with Triangle United if How Mine is to officially confirm that he attended the session. Let it just be mere talk without any official attachment to it," said the insider.

The same insider also revealed that the club was slowly running out of patience and said if nothing tangible comes out by Monday, they might be forced to focus their attention elsewhere.

"We can't go as far as the second week of pre-season training without a substantive coach; certainly not, so if he does not sort out whatever is holding him at Triangle United then we might as well look to the next coach on our preference list," the insider said.

Kaindu just fell short of confirming How Mine as his next destination when reached for comment yesterday afternoon.

"I haven't joined How Mine yet. I think that's the reason the club hasn't issued a statement on that," said Kaindu, who declined to confirm whether or not he was still the Triangle United head coach.

"I think Triangle United are the best people to comment on that, not me," he said.

Triangle United chairman Lovemore Matikinyidze could not be reached on his mobile phone yesterday, but he insisted on Wednesday that Kaindu was still their coach and they were expecting him to conduct their pre-season training as he still had a running contract with the Lowveld side that expires at the end of the 2016 season.
