Fined and suspended for pouring urine on Adam Ndlovu

Zimbabwe's reigning Soccer Star of the Year, Charles Sibanda, has been fined US$1000 and served with a two match suspension for assaulting and pouring urine on former national team striker and now Chicken Inn assistant coach, Adam Ndlovu.
The FC Platinum player was found guilty of flouting Premier Soccer League (PSL) rules and regulations when he appeared before the league's disciplinary panel consisting of Harare lawyer, Don Moyo, Vusa Vuma (lawyer) and Brighton Mudzamiri (a retired referee and serving police officer) on 22 September.
The reigning 2010 Soccer player of the Year assaulted Ndlovu during a league match at Luveve Stadium in Bulawayo on 27 August. The two teams drew 1-1.
According to a verdict of the disciplinary hearing released on Thursday, the disciplinary panel condemned Sibanda's conduct as atrocious.
"Players should be exemplary as they are role models. Such atrocious conduct does not inspire confidence in youngsters. His conduct could have easily sparked violence at the stadium. A deterrent penalty would meet the justice of this case.
"In arriving at the appropriate fine, we are guided by the PSL Standing Orders. He is hereby suspended for two matches with immediate effect and a fine of US$1000, US$200 of which is suspended for the rest of the season on condition that he is not convicted of a similar offence," the PSL disciplinary panel's ruling reads in part.
"The effective fine of US$800 together with the costs of the hearing is to be paid by 31st of October 2011. In terms of Article 19.4 of the FIFA code, a suspension is prolonged until the fine is paid in full hence the player will not play any matches until the fine is paid in full," the verdict added.
Sibanda has been effectively ruled out for this year's Soccer Star of the Year selection after being found guilty for misconduct.
According to PSL rules and regulations it is an offence for a player to assault, threaten, intimidate, coerce, interfere, mislead or insult a match official, player or official of the league, Press or media, or any other person before or during the match.
