Dembare, Bosso tie moved

THE Bob92 Super Cup first round final tie pitting Dynamos and Highlanders has been rescheduled after the former refused to travel to Bulawayo due to outstanding prize money from last year's edition.

The match was set for Barbourfields Stadium this afternoon. In a dramatic turn of events, Dynamos refused to travel to Bulawayo, a development that forced those putting together the tournament to bring in Caps United but with Highlanders seemingly reluctant to take on Makepekepe, the organisers had no choice but to postpone the tournament to a later date.

Charles Mabika, spokesperson for the organisers confirmed late yesterday that the match had been called off because they realised that new arrangements did not suit all concerned stakeholders.

Mabika expressed his disappointment with the turn of events and stressed that the main cause which triggered the turn of events was Dynamos raising the issue of unpaid prize money, a scenario which was beyond their control as the organisers.

"We have had to reschedule the Bob92 Super Cup after we realised that the last minute adjustments were not conducive to playing this game, we are re-scheduling it to a date to be advised.

"Obviously we are disappointed because we were looking forward to a bumper match originally between Highlanders and Dynamos and after Dynamos pulled out we were looking forward to the match between Highlanders and Caps United but we saw that some last minute adjustments left some strings unattached to all stakeholders,'' said Mabika.

Caps United got informed not to embark on the journey to Bulawayo before they had taken off from Harare.

Mabika went on to apologise to all stakeholders who were affected by the postponement.

"We would like to apologise to all stakeholders and fans for the non-event but I must say that the original reasons were issues beyond our control as the organisers. We would like to wish Dynamos, Highlanders and Caps United all the best for the 2016 season as they prepare for their various assignments,'' Mabika said.
