The technical team of newly promoted premiership side FC Platinum will be largely made up of former Highlanders coaches.
Byo24News has it on good authority that the Zvishavane based side have managed to lure former Highlanders and Amazulu coach Benjamin Moyo, who will be assisted by another former Bosso coach, Philani Mabhena who worked as assistant to Madinda Ndlovu. Mabhena was assistant to Philani Ncube at Chicken Inn last season. In addition, former Bosso goalkeeper coach, Peter Oxo Nkomo is said to be moving to Platinum FC.
However, Moyo could not be reached for comment on the issue, while Nkomo maintained that he still wanted to work at Bosso where his contracted expired at the end of last year.
"At Highlanders we don't talk our issues in newspapers, we sit down in the office and talk issues. I still want to continue with Bosso and I will go back to Bulawayo once I finish with the Under 23 team here in Harare," he said. However, Chicken Inn secretary Tawengwa Hara confirmed that Mabhena resigned from the club last week.
"Mabhena handed his resignation letter last week and it seems he is joining Platinum FC. We were looking into renewing his contract but he did not sign as he had other plans. It is now up to the technical team to get a replacement for Mabhena," said Hara.
When contacted for a comment, Mabhena said: "I cannot confirm or deny right now I am in the rural areas looking after my cattle.:
The Zvishavane side, which has managed to lure a number of experienced players like the former Motor Action duo of Charles Sibanda and Bhekimpilo Ncube, Gunners duo of goalkeeper Tafadzwa Dube and Norman MAroto and likely destination of Highlanders defender Zephania Ngodzo and young brother Joel, have reportedly started physical training in the Eastern Highlands.
