Dereck Chisora's promoter claims his punishment for throwing a table at Dillian Whyte is unfair.

Kalle Sauerland feels Chisora's £25,000 fine, plus £5,000 costs, and suspended two-year ban are disproportionate, especially when Whyte was not sanctioned.

Sauerland cannot understand how the British Boxing Board of Control could clobber Chisora and ignore Whyte's provocation when he claimed: "If I see you anywhere, I'll attack you after the fight."

The Board have also stripped tomorrow's clash at Manchester Arena of the British heavyweight title.

Sauerland told Mirror Sport : "I don't understand how the Board can pull Del up and not Dillian. That's terrible and I'll be talking to Robert Smith about that.

"It doesn't follow for me that you can pull one guy up and not the other.

"There is no excuse whatsoever for what Del did, but it was a reaction and let's not forget that.

"Dillian said he would attack Del if he saw him anywhere after the fight.

"It's stupid what Del did, but I'm his promoter, not his psychologist. He has this reputation and people know that. They know he will go off if they get under his skin.

"I also think the two-year suspension is out of proportion when some people who have been caught doping in the sport are getting six months. It's not horses for courses."
