Zimbabwe fails to qualify for Afrobasket tourney

The Zimbabwe basketball team's hopes of Afrobasket qualification were quashed as a two point victory over South Africa at the Wembley arena in Johannesburg on Saturday evening was not enough.
The Zimbabwe men's side needed to win by eight points after an opening 74:67 defeat but only managed a two point victory after overcoming the hosts 70:68 in a thrilling contest on Saturday evening.
The loss sees Zimbabwe having to watch from the sidelines at this year's Afrobasket edition after making a maiden qualification in 2015.
