Admire Masenda has retained the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) presidency, while Kirsty Coventry broke into the committee as vice president following elections held at Prince Edward High School in Harare today.

Masenda was elected for a third consecutive term after shrugging off the challenge of Joe Rugwete and Charles Mukaronda.

Masenda polled 31 votes, Rugwete 9 and Mukaronda just 2 votes.

The ZOC president was delighted to be re-elected, while Rugwete was gracious in defeat.

Coventry and Thabani Gonye were elected as the two new vice presidents after garnering a majority vote.

The ecstatic Coventry polled 38 votes, Gonye 27 and Frederick Ndlovu missed out after registering 19 votes.

In the board member positions, Leticia Chipandu secured a seat by virtue of ZOC's quota system which makes it mandatory for the board to be made up of 3 women.

After missing out on vice presidency, Ndlovu was voted into the ZOC alongside Custom Kachambwa, Addison Chiware, Rick Fulton and Stephen Mudawarima.
