Kirsty Coventry through to 200 m backstroke finals

London - Zimbabwean swimming sensation Kirsty Coventry is through into the finals of the women's 200m backstroke after registering a time of 2.08:32 minutes in her heat at the 2012 London Olympic Games on Thursday evening.
Coventry registering the second fastest time in the qualifying heats. She came after an American swimmer, Missy Franklin who clocked 2:06.84. Overall, she qualified fifth after Elizabeth Beisel (2:06.18), Missy Franklin (2:06.84) of America, Meagan Nay (2:07.42) of Australia, Anastasia Zueva (2:07.88) of Russia and Alexianne Castel (2:08.24) of France.
Coventry is the two-time defending gold medalist and current world record-holder in the 200m back.
