The Zimbabwe Davis Cup team that is in Cairo, Egypt for the Africa Group III qualifiers at the Smash Academy qualified for the promotional play-offs after winning both their ties against Kenya and Ghana on a similar 3-nil score line in Pool B.
The team will now meet the winner of Pool D between Nigeria and hosts Egypt.
The Zimbabwean team is yet to drop a set, winning all 12 they have played.
Both Egypt and Nigeria have won two ties in Pool D and face each other in this Saturday's clash to decide who will claim the top position in the pool.
Egypt has been in good form, winning all 12 sets and only dropping 9 games so far.
Nigeria needs to defeat Egypt in Saturday's tie to finish top of the pool because they currently trail the hosts, having dropped a rubber in the first tie.
In Pool A, Algeria produced a spirited performance to defeat Cameroon 2-1.
Algeria won both of the singles rubbers to seal victory before Cameroon won the dead doubles rubber.
Cameroon will face Morocco on Sunday (tomorrow), knowing they will have to win 3-0 in order to qualify for the promotion play-offs.
However, as Morocco are the top seeds, that will need to be an exceptional performance.
Rwanda could finish bottom of Pool C after they lost both of their ties 3-0.
This means that Saturday's tie between Madagascar and Namibia could decide who tops Pool C and qualifies for the promotion play-offs.

Morocco, Madagascar and hosts Egypt were all relegated to zone group III last year and are looking to bounce back and make a swift return to Europe/Africa Zone Group II.
Zimbabwe narrowly missed out on promotion last year, and are hopeful of producing a strong showing this year.
However, Morocco and Egypt are the favourites going into the event as they are the only teams who boast of four players who all have rankings.
Egypt's Mohamed Safwat holds the highest ranking of any player involved in the group at number 320.
Meanwhile, Algeria will be hoping to do better than last year, when they finished bottom of the group.
Egypt were drawn in Pool D alongside Nigeria, Botswana, and Zambia.
The winners of that pool will play winners of Pool B - Zimbabwe.
