Luis Suarez Liverpool Transfer Not Dead Yet, talks continuing
It is a tense time for Liverpool fans at the moment, but this time last week everything seemed so optimistic.
While the Luis Suarez deal looked certain to go ahead last week, yesterday it seemed 50/50 at best, and their current star striker Fernando Torres has been the subject of a multi-million pound bid from Chelsea.
Liverpool have rejected the offer, but will hope that Torres' head isn't turned.
Nevertheless, details have emerged today that the Suarez transfer is far from off.
Yesterday Ajax reportedly wanted €30m (approximately £25.9m) but today they are said to have dropped their price to €25m (around £21.6m).
Liverpool's latest offer has been widely announced as €20m (£17.3m), but the clubs are still negotiating.
Now around £4m apart in their respective valuations, could a compromise offer of £2m more be accepted by Ajax?
Though £19m is of course a huge amount in anybody's book, it seems a decent fee for a forward who has scored at international level and in the UEFA Champions League.
How many world class strikers will Liverpool have by the end of this January transfer window then?
