'I can't work for nothing', Akbay tells Highlanders

Highlanders FC is in a quandary over the availability of coach Erol Akbay next season and officals are cagey on the coach salary.

Early this week, Bulawayo24.com revealed that Akbay might not return next year over salary issues.

Highlanders sponsorship from BancABC, an institution that foot's Akbay salary  ends on December 31 and renewal talks are said to be ongoing.

During yesterday (Thursday) traditional press briefing club  secretary-general Emmet Ndlovu said: "The question is not about the BancABC sponsorship coming to an end, but about Highlanders paying his salary.

"There is no way we can bring him down here without his salary. If you see him coming here next year, know we have the money."

 On his part Akbay said "It's too far from home to come here for nothing,".

He leaves the country on Monday after having guaded Highlanders to a third finish in the league.
