Khama Billiat set for a training stint with Ajax Amsterdam

Zimbabwe never made it to the Africa Cup of Nations, but Khama Billiat will not waste any time in the New Year with news of him set for a training stint with Ajax Amsterdam.
There is a good possibility that the Ajax Cape Town star attacker will make the trip to Holland during the downtime in January/February, and the opportunity is labelled an "experience building exercise."
Of course, should it materialise that Billiat impresses in Holland, there could well be a future transfer on the cards.
But for now Urban Warriors coach Maarten Stekelenburg is not selling any players.
"None of my players are for sale during this transfer window. I am happy with my squad," the coach, who celebrated his birthday yesterday, said at an open media day at Ikamva.
KickOff.com understands that the Billiat camp is not desperate to move him away from Ajax.
Rather, they are simply looking to initiate exposure for the 21-year-old and make sure he keeps progressing.
Billiat had this to say: "It feels bad not going to the Nations Cup with Zimbabwe, but we always look forward to next time.
"To be honest (about the Ajax Amsterdam opportunity) I have to just focus on my game. Everything comes while I am on top of my game, so that is all I can do; then everything comes easier and follows on from this."
Despite not commenting directly on the possible visit, Billiat says he has set himself some goals.
"It (the overseas option) gives me a good picture for myself and some goals to aim for.
"I always try not to put myself under pressure. I just try and do my best."
